Procurement Trends: Ultrasound Exam Tables - March, 2023

Ultrasound exam tables are intended to facilitate ultrasound imaging studies. These tables have cut-out, removable, or drop-down sections designed for positioning patients for unobstructed access to the body area to be scanned. There are four categories of tables: cardiac (echocardiography), general-purpose (multi-use), vascular, and women's imaging (obstetrics and gynecology). Over the last five years, echo/cardiac tables accounted for 58% of overall interest in ultrasound exam tables, followed by 28% for general/multi-use tables. From 2020 to 2021, interest in echo/cardiac tables increased by 56% whereas interest in general/multi-use tables decreased by 59%.
