Study: Frequent Head Turning Sign May Identify Alzheimer Disease Dementia

The head turning sign, a simple and quick test, may be able to help identify Alzheimer disease (AD) dementia, according to study findings presented in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the Congress of the European Academy of Neurology. Patients who frequently turn their head toward a trusted caregiver to help answer simple questions are more likely to have AD dementia than mild cognitive impairment or frontotemporal dementia, found the authors.
