​A Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, jury awarded $4 million to the mother of an infant who died at 32 days of age after providers allegedly failed to diagnose and treat pertussis, according to a May 17, 2018, article in LancasterOnline. The complaint filed against the practice and its clinicians alleged that the mother reported at several visits that she was experiencing symptoms of pertussis and asked that the baby get tested.
