Over 40% of U.S. LGBTQ young people ages 13 to 24 seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, according to the 2023 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ Young People by The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization focused on suicide prevention among LGBTQ youth.
