Suit May Proceed for Patient's Infection following Knee Injections

A lawsuit alleging that a patient's infection following platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections in his knees could only have occurred if there was a breach in the sterile field may proceed, the Nebraska supreme court has ruled.

The patient had a history of osteoarthritis and knee pain, and he had been treated at the defendant clinic previously with injections meant to postpone or avoid invasive procedures such as knee replacement surgery.
