Nurse and physician leaders show a “clear disconnect in their perceptions” of the working relationship between nurses and physicians in healthcare organizations, according to the HealthLeaders Media Industry Survey 2012. The survey analysis is based on the findings of 1,070 completed survey responses of healthcare leaders, including 296 nurse leaders and 136 physician leaders. While only 13% of physician leaders said physician abuse or disrespect of nurses is common at their organizations, 42% of nurse leaders said those conditions are common, the survey found.
