Joint Commission Updates to Pain Assessment and Management Standards Continue for Three More Care Settings

​Joint Commission–accredited behavioral healthcare organizations, nursing care centers, and home health services will be affected by new and revised pain assessment and management standards, and these changes will take effect July 1, 2019, according to a January 9, 2019, article by Joint Commission. To explain the rationale and the evidence supporting these changes, Joint Commission has published in-depth reports specifically for each of these care settings, with one report each for behavioral healthcare, nursing care centers, and home health.
