In a June 15, 2018, Urgent Medical Device Recall letter, Medtronic states that the above sutures may have been contaminated with propylene glycol during the manufacturing process. Sutures exposed to this contaminant may prematurely degrade or break, potentially leading to tissue irritation or wound dehiscence if the suture is used.
