NQF Endorses New Complications-Related Patient Safety Measure Set

The National Quality Forum (NQF) has endorsed 14 new patient safety measures related to medical complications, states a June 19, 2012, NQF press release. The measures address a range of patient safety and quality concerns, including medication safety, venous thromboembolism, surgical safety, and care coordination. According to the press release, 27 measures were evaluated against NQF’s endorsement criteria, and 14 received endorsement status.
