Care of Cannabis Patients Depends on Their Trust of Providers

Care providers may manage patients who use cannabis whether they are located in states in which cannabis use has been decriminalized or in states where it is yet a criminal offense. However, patients who are using cannabis in a way not sanctioned by their state laws may be unsurprisingly reluctant to share information regarding their use of the substance with their healthcare provider—and even those using the substance as prescribed by their doctor may be reluctant to share this information with another medical professional.
