Healthcare risk managers may be interested in an April 24, 2014, Boston Globe article that discusses recent cybersecurity attacks by the computer hacker group known as Anonymous against Boston Children's Hospital in connection with a child custody case. According to the article, Anonymous threatened to attack the hospital's network last month if the facility failed to immediately terminate the employment of one of its physicians. In a controversial case that began last year, the physician brought medical child abuse charges against a young patient's parents that ultimately resulted in the child's removal from the family and placement in a residential facility as a ward of the state.
