The Orangeworm Catches Your Data: Hacker Group Poses Threat to Healthcare Sector

An unknown attack group known as Orangeworm has been installing malicious backdoor software known as Trojans within the computer systems of large international companies that operate within the healthcare sector, according to an April 23, 2018, post from cybersecurity software vendor Symantec. Orangeworm, first identified in January 2015, has also mounted targeted attacks against related industries as part of larger supply-chain attacks, the post said. The group's targets have included healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, IT solution providers for healthcare providers, and equipment manufacturers that serve healthcare.
