The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has released updated guidelines on treatment programs for opioid addiction. Previously published in 2007, Federal Guidelines for Opioid Treatment Programs is intended to be the primary reference and central measure for program staff, accreditation bodies, and other stakeholders on the delivery of care in opioid treatment programs that is both high quality and in compliance with federal regulations.
