Joint Commission Updates Requirements to Align with NFPA

The Joint Commission announced on February 14, 2017, that it will further revise the environment-of-care and life safety chapters of its ambulatory care, critical access hospital, hospital, home care, and nursing care center Comprehensive Accreditation Manuals. The revisions will more closely align the requirements of these chapters with the 2012 editions of the NFPA 101: Life Safety Code and NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code from the National Fire Protection Association.
