  • The IVX Workflow system is intended to aid in the safe preparation of compounded sterile products (CSPs) in the pharmacy clean room by standardizing workflow and providing documentation (e.g., images) of compounding steps through IVX Cloud.
  • Major device components and software features:
    • IVX workstation—Self-contained device located in the laminar-airflow hood used to prepare CSPs and operate IVX workstation software. The workstation includes:
      • Imager—For imaging ingredient vials, preparation syringes, and final containers
      • Bar-code scanner—For verification of ingredients
      • Scale—For gravimetric preparation
      • Touchscreen computer—The user interface
      • Bar-code printer—For printing dose labels
      • Dimensions: 40.8 cm long × 38.5 cm wide × 46.6 cm high (16 × 15 × 18 in)
    • IVX Workflow software—Enables the following features:
      • Pending-order dashboard—Outlines a list of pending patient orders, which are selected by the user to initiate preparation. Prioritization to Stat, Urgent, or not prioritized is available.
      • Dose preparation—Guides the pharmacy technician and pharmacist through preparation steps for each dose, and records steps taken, including images and ingredient weights.
    • IVX Cloud—Web-based software for managing IVX Workflow units and pharmacy verification; it enables the following features: (1) Dose verification—Enables the pharmacist to ensure that the correct steps were taken to prepare the dose.
