  1. The King Vision aBlade is a handheld video laryngoscope with single-use blades that is used to examine and visualize a patient's upper airway and aid in the placement of a tracheal tube. a) Ambu offers two video laryngoscopes—the King Vision and the aBlade. Both systems use the King Vision Display. b) The King Vision video laryngoscope has single-use blades that attach directly to the display. c) The aBlade has a reusable video adapter that attaches to the display and is inserted into single-use blade sheaths. 2. The aBlade consists of the following: a) King Vision Display: (1) Includes the screen, power button, and video-out port (2) Screen: (a) Size: 6.1 cm (2.4 in), measured diagonally; screen is oriented horizontally (b) Resolution: 320 × 240 pixels (c) Brightness: 400 cd/m2 (3) Uses three AAA batteries, which power the device for approximately 90 minutes (4) Weight: 0.1 kg (0.22 lb) (5) Size: 7.4 × 14.7 × 3.6 cm (2.9 × 5.8 × 1.4 in) (6) Reusable, cannot be immersed, and should be subjected to low-level disinfection between each patient (7) King Vision Display can also be used with King Vision single-use blades b) aBlade video adapter (1) Connects to King Vision Display (battery cover on display has to be removed to attach the video baton) and is inserted into the aBlade laryngoscope blades (2) Video adapter 12 is used with #1, #2, and #2C blades (3) Video adapter 34 is used with #3 and #3C blades (4) Reusable, cannot be immersed, and should be subjected to low-level disinfection between each patient c) Laryngoscope blades: (1) Single-use laryngoscope blades that go over the video adapter. (2) The channeled blades do not require the use of a stylet since preloading the endotracheal tube into the channel causes it to conform to the hyperangulated curve of the blade.
