Evaluation: Philips Avalon FM50 Fetal Monitor


The unit performs well overall. It does a good job helping the user identify and manage alarms. However, the disabling and silencing of alarms can be misleading and could potentially lead to alarm conditions being overlooked. Although the monitor can detect coincidence of heart rate values, it is limited in its ability to indicate coincidence to the user.
