Healthcare providers are already relying on telemedicine to address healthcare challenges, according to a feature article on telemedicine laws and policies published in the Fourth Quarter 2018 issue of Inside Medical Liability, and providers must continue to prepare for telemedicine's role in the healthcare delivery of the future. Almost every state's Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) program provides reimbursement for some kind of telemedicine service, the authors said, and because Medicaid managed care organizations usually must adopt FFS policies, this finding suggests that telemedicine coverage will become even more widely reimbursed.
