CMS Posts Frequently Asked Questions on QAPI, Other Quality Programs

​The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted on its website more than 20 frequently asked questions (FAQs) on the quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) requirement of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and other quality initiatives. In the FAQ document, CMS notes that it does not have a specific time frame for publishing QAPI regulations and reminds users that any regulations would first be published as a proposed rule in the Federal Register before being finalized.
