A new resource, the ONC Guide to Getting and Using Your Health Records, is available for individuals, patients, and caregivers, according to an April 4, 2018, news release on the website of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Recently published by HHS's Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) in conjunction with other federal health agencies, the online guide details a step-by-step process on how to obtain one's health records; how to find and fix any mistakes found in the records; and how to then use, share, and manage health records. With quizzes, troubleshooting tips, and frequently asked questions scattered throughout the online guide, an ONC administrator says the guide can "help answer some of the questions patients may have when asking for their health information."
