January 11, 2023

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA—ECRI, the most trusted voice in healthcare, announces the launch of a new monthly video series featuring healthcare insights from its experts. ECRI Now, an innovative news show, premieres Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at now.ecri.org.

Every month, ECRI Now will feature interviews with ECRI’s insiders about their experiences with the biggest issues facing healthcare—from technology to bedside care and everything in between.

“By creating substantive bite-sized content using video interviews and walk-throughs in our device evaluation lab, ECRI Now brings our research to life, giving our members and stakeholders a better way to stay on top of patient safety innovations and other developments in healthcare,” says Marcus Schabacker, MD, PhD, president and CEO of ECRI.

ECRI Now is hosted by seasoned healthcare interviewer Paul Anderson, ECRI’s director of publications and host of ECRI’s Smart Healthcare Safety Podcast.
“In the first episode, we talk to an ECRI engineer with a personal connection to a nationwide device recall of sleep apnea devices, look at best practices for safe vaccine administration, and dive into our annual list of health technology hazards,” adds Anderson.

Guests on the first episode are Ismael Cordero, project officer on ECRI’s Device Evaluation team; Michael Gaunt, a pharmacist with ECRI’s affiliate, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP); and Rob Schluth, editor of ECRI’s annual Top 10 Health Technology Hazards report.

Each episode will include topics of relevance to healthcare leaders across the care continuum including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, patient safety and risk management professionals, supply chain leaders, and biomedical engineers. Topics may also be of interest to health insurers, cybersecurity experts, medical device manufacturers, and guideline developers.

New episodes will be posted to ECRI’s website on the first Wednesday of each month.
