​Automated prescription filling robotics are designed to fill prescription vials with pills or tablets quickly and accurately by automating the associated repetitive manual processes that can be prone to human error. These systems are able to directly interface with a hospital's pharmacy information system to fill, label, and collate prescriptions at 120 to 200 prescriptions per hour. Typically used in large retail pharmacies, hospitals have recently begun to offer outpatient pharmacy services to discharged patients and the local community as a way to increase convenience and boost revenue. As a result, we have seen a sharp rise in interest for pharmacy prescription filling robotics solutions within the past year.
