New Physician Fee Schedule Expands Health Information Technology Coverage Options

​The new physician fee schedule for the Medicare and Medicaid programs includes several changes to promote the use of health information technology and other provisions affecting physicians. For example, beginning January 1, 2015, Medicare will start to cover telehealth services, including wellness and behavioral health visits for beneficiaries. Additionally, the rules enable providers to bill Medicare $40 per patient each month for non-face-to-face care for patients with multiple chronic conditions.
