The House Energy and Commerce Committee on September 13, 2017, approved legislation that would remove the HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health) Act of 2009's requirement that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services make meaningful use standards for electronic health records more stringent over time.
