NIOSH Issues Information about Protecting Workers Using Chemical Cleaners
September 7, 2012 | Strategic Insights for Ambulatory Care
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) published an InfoSheet in July 2012 detailing potential hazards for workers who use cleaning chemicals on a regular basis. The hazards involved with cleaning chemicals can range from rashes and burns to asthma. Many factors influence whether a chemical may cause health problems, including the ingredients, storage and use, and ventilation during use.
