Unintentional Overdose Death Rates Rise among Black, Indigenous People in the United States

Unintentional drug overdose death rates increased by 44% among non-Hispanic Black people and by 39% among non-Hispanic American Indian or Alaska Native people from 2019 to 2020, according to the July 22, 2022, Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
