What's the news. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has declared monkeypox a public health emergency (PHE) in the United States, according to an August 4, 2022, release from the agency. The PHE carries implications for sharing data with the federal government; 51 jurisdictions have already signed data-use agreements that will provide information related to vaccine administration to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), according to the release.
