Although many patients suffering from chronic musculoskeletal pain use acupuncture or chiropractic treatment, few inform their providers that they use these alternative pain management treatments, concludes a study published online July 20, 2015, in the American Journal of Managed Care. Of 6,068 patients responding to a survey, 32% said they used acupuncture and 47% said they used chiropractic care to help manage chronic musculoskeletal pain, 21% used both and 42% did not use either.
