Study Identifies Top Reasons Providers Work While They Are Sick

​Although most providers agreed that working while sick puts patients at risk of infection, the majority of providers also said that they worked at least once during the last year while they were symptomatic, according to a study published online July 6, 2015, in JAMA Pediatrics. Of the 538 respondents, including 280 attending physicians and 256 advanced practice clinicians, 95.3% believed that working while sick put patients at risk.
