FDA to Strengthen NSAID Warnings about Increased Cardiovascular Risks

​The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that it is strengthening the existing label warnings stating that nonaspirin nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) increase the chance of a heart attack, heart failure, or stroke. According to a July 9, 2015, FDA drug safety communication, a variety of new safety information suggests that the risks from NSAIDs are higher than previously thought.
