​An anesthesiologist and her practice were ordered to pay $500,000 after a patient who inadvertently made an audio recording of his entire colonoscopy on his smartphone found that the clinician made insulting comments about him throughout the procedure. The Washington Post provided coverage of the case, as did the New York Times and many other media outlets. The anesthesiologist was recorded saying, "After five minutes of talking to you in pre-op, I wanted to punch you in the face and man you up a little bit."
