​The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) issued updated vaccine guidelines calling for the use of two serogroup B meningococcal vaccines in patients age 16 to 23 years for short-term protection at its June 24-25, 2015, meeting. Previous guidance from ACIP advised using the vaccines only in people age 10 or older who are at high risk for serogroup B meningococcal disease.
