Joint Commission to Begin Surveying Based on 2012 Life Safety Code in July

​The Joint Commission will begin surveying accredited organizations based on the 2012 edition of the Life Safety Code effective July 5, 2016, the organization has announced. The move comes on the heels of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) announcement that it would adopt the 2012 Life Safety Code in a May 2016 final rule (see the May 27, 2016, Physician Practice E-News).
