CCHP Update Shows Telehealth Reimbursement Expanding across States
June 11, 2018 | Strategic Insights for Ambulatory Care
The Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP) has updated its State Telehealth Laws and Reimbursement Policies report, covering relevant state laws, regulations, and Medicaid policies for all 50 states and Washington, DC. States are revising rules surrounding telehealth reimbursement, the report says, in order to eliminate barriers to the use of telemedicine, and many are expanding reimbursement. Notably, 49 states and Washington, DC, provide reimbursement for live-video telehealth care, with Rhode Island the most recent state to take this step since 2017, the report says; the number of states that reimburse for live video, store-and-forward video, and remote patient monitoring has stayed steady.
