State Medical Boards Took More Actions against Licensed Physicians in 2011

The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) has published its annual Summary of Board Actions, a compilation of disciplinary actions initiated by its 70-member medical and osteopathic boards. Board actions overall increased 6.8% in 2011 from the previous year, and 4.9% more physicians had their medical licenses or license privileges revoked or suspended.
