The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has published a statement, Planned Home Birth, that reminds healthcare providers that the mother has a right to make a “medically informed decision” regarding delivery of her baby, and she should be informed of the risks and benefits of a home birth plan based on medical evidence.
