Suit Alleges Failure to Perform Cervical Cerclage despite Repeated Requests Led to Loss of Pregnancy

​A New Jersey woman has settled a case for an undisclosed amount after claiming that a provider's delay in ordering a cerclage placement led to her miscarriage early in her second trimester of pregnancy, according to an article in the January 2023 Medical Malpractice Verdicts, Settlements & Experts.  

The 26-year-old woman sought care from the defendant provider when she was in her fifth week of gestation with her fifth pregnancy.
