AHRQ Introduces Resources to Enhance Physician Feedback Reporting

​Although confidential performance feedback reports are intended to help physicians and other clinicians improve quality of care, patient satisfaction, and optimum use of resources, they are likely ineffective because reporting systems have numerous shortcomings. "Physicians need more than mere data," states the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), advocating that for change to occur, a practitioner must be able to receive, understand, and act on relevant information. This is often a problem, states AHRQ, as insufficient attention is typically given to effective communication regarding performance data.
