​The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) released the second edition of its Health Literacy Universal Precautions Toolkit to help primary care physicians reduce the complexity of healthcare and increase patient understanding. AHRQ said that only 12% of U.S. adults have adequate health literacy skills, and even those can be compromised by stress or illness.
