January 22, 2019 | Physician Practice News
Long-term exercise is associated with decreased fall risk in older adults, according to a December 28, 2018, original investigation in JAMA Internal Medicine. The authors conducted a meta-analysis of 46 randomized, long-term exercise clinical trials featuring 22,709 participants (60 years or older), looking for six outcomes: falls, injurious falls, multiple falls, fractures, hospitalizations, and mortality. Most of the studies (35) involved older adults living in the community.
