The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has released a toolkit for reducing catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) in hospitals. Based on the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP), the customizable toolkit contains modules for implementation, sustainability, and resources including guides, tools, and archived webinars to build on an existing AHRQ CUSP toolkit. In a press release, AHRQ states that CAUTIs affect up to 250,000 hospital patients annually at a cost of $250 million.
