CDC: Cases of Tick-borne Illnesses Continue to Rise

​Health departments reported a record number of tick-borne disease cases in 2017, according to a November 9, 2018, release from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). CDC received 59,349 reports of tick-borne disease in 2017, a significant increase from the 48,610 cases reported in 2016. The most frequently reported tick-borne disease continues to be Lyme disease (42,743 cases in 2017).
