Joint Commission Publishes Official 2016 National Patient Safety Goals

​The Joint Commission has published its official list of National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG) for 2016, comprising 16 specific items in 7 areas of focus, including patient identification, alarm safety, medication safety, and infection prevention. Of particular note is the goal on alarm safety, which must be fully implemented by January 1, 2016.
