Free Downloadable Infection Prevention Tools Can Help Providers at the Front Line
October 24, 2018 | Strategic Insights for Health System
The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) has released free, downloadable tools to assist healthcare facilities in preventing, identifying, and evaluating healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), according to APIC's website. The "quick observation tools," or QUOTs, aim to empower healthcare facilities to respond quickly and effectively to HAIs. Designed for use in acute care hospitals, ambulatory settings, and critical care hospitals (patient care units as well as high-level disinfection areas), each QUOT is a checklist or form that a frontline healthcare professional can use to assess infection prevention at the patient care level.
