One in Five Americans Has Personally Experienced Medical Errors, Survey Finds

​A survey of 2,536 U.S. adults conducted between May 12 and June 26, 2017, found that, although the large majority of Americans have reported positive healthcare experiences, 21% report having personally experienced a medical error. Furthermore, 31% of those surveyed reported that someone else whose care they were closely involved with experienced an error.
