Medical Records, Fire Safety Top Joint Commission’s Most Challenging Requirements

Maintenance of complete and accurate medical records for individual patients (RC.01.01.01) topped the list of most challenging requirements for hospitals surveyed by the Joint Commission in the first half of 2012, the organization revealed in the October 3, 2012, Joint Commission Online. The rate of noncompliance with this standard was 61%. The second most challenging requirement, maintaining the integrity of the means of egress (LS.02.01.20), had a 52% noncompliance rate.
