CDC: 70% of Healthcare Personnel Vaccinated for Influenza during 2011-2012 Season

Approximately 70% of healthcare personnel reported having had an influenza vaccination for the 2011 to 2012 season, reports an article published in the September 28, 2012, issue of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. According to the article, CDC conducted an online panel survey of 2,348 healthcare personnel to gather vaccination data for the 2011 to 2012 season. The survey results indicated that, by occupation, vaccination coverage was 85.6% among physicians, 77.9% among nurses, and 62.8% among all other participating healthcare personnel.
