Varian—ARIA Radiation Therapy Management Prescribe Treatment Software: Organ at Risk Dose-Volume Constraint Values May Be Displayed Incorrectly If Prescription Was Created in Previous Version

In an August 15, 2016, Technical Advisory letter submitted by an ECRI Institute member hospital, Varian states that the above software may incorrectly store and display organ at risk (OAR) dose-volume constraint values if the prescription was created in software versions 11.0, 13.0, or 13.5. Varian also states that this problem occurs because the storage location for dose and volume constraints is swapped in the above software version 13.6 and, as a result, the display of the OAR dose-volume constraints will differ depending on the version in which they were created and the workspace version in which they are displayed. For an example of how the OAR dose-volume constraint values are displayed in software versions 11.0, 13.0, or 13.5 versus software version 13.6, see Table 1 in the letter. Varian further states that this problem does not affect the storage or display of the mean and maximum OAR dose values or Prescription Coverage constraints.
