In a July 24, 2012, Customer Information letter submitted by an ECRI Institute member hospital, Philips states that the electrocardiograph (ECG) signal in the systems below may display a flatline when electromagnetic interference is present. This can occur when electrocautery equipment is used or when or electrophysiology magnetic mapping devices are used. The interference may result in inappropriate treatment, delay of treatment, or no treatment when treatment is indicated.
