IL Mammography Facility Ordered to Cease Operations

The State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency has ordered a mammography facility to cease operations for failing to notify patients of their mammography results within the required timeframe established by the agency and the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), states an August 25, 2014, mammography facility adverse event and action report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). According to the report, the MQSA Hotline received a complaint stating that the facility was not providing patients with the results of their mammograms. The State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency conducted an investigation and was able to substantiate the complaint.
